No prerequisites are necessary for this course. However, participants are expected to possess basic language, literacy, and numeracy skills, with an emphasis on oral communication.

Our CPR programs are designed to deliver the highest quality of training and education to the community and professionals in their chosen field. The programs are completed through hands-on practical demonstrations and participation, high quality learner resources, skill videos, online presentations, interactive learner assessments and real-life knowledge and experiences by passionate and professional instructors. There is both an online learning component and face to face practical assessment session included in this course.
The learner will be able to react and execute effective CPR techniques without stopping to think about how to perform various parts of a skill. During the course, learners will learn how to manage situations by simulating real life emergencies. Learners will learn skills that are safe, practical and effective.
Please note it is a requirement of this course that the practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the adult manikin on the floor. The online modules are self-paced and can take up to 4 hours to complete based on your previous experiences. The face-to-face assessment session will be 4 hours. This will be dependent on your practical ability and level of competence in the tasks required. This course is a blended model with online modules to complete before the practical assessment session.
In line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, HLTAID009 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting qualifications should be updated every 12 months.

At completion of the CPR course the learner will receive a Nationally Recognized Training qualification that demonstrates they have participated in levels of training that exceed industry best practice standards. The content and related course work will be delivered by an approved CPR Instructor.
Skills that learners will learn in the CPR course include:
- Recognize an emergency situation
- Identify, assess and minimize immediate hazards to self and others
- Assess the casualty and recognize the need for CPR
- Seek assistance from emergency services
- Perform CPR in accordance with ARC Guidelines
- Display respectful behavior towards casualty
- Operate Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Accurately convey incident details to emergency services
- Report details of incident to workplace
- Maintain confidentiality of records and information
